The Lady or The Tiger?

“Which came out of the opened door, the lady or the tiger?”

Probably was the lady who came out if  the princess didn’t want her lover dead. Otherwise she preferred see her lover with another woman, but alive. Also, she was sure that with time she could have her lover back.

On the other hand, perhaps it was the tiger who came out would be because the princess would never accept her lover marrying another woman. Because she was semi-barbaric, she didn’t think with reason; but with her feelings, and she was a very jealous woman. Finally, she was sure that her lover would prefer to die than live without her.
For me, it doesn’t matter which door she chose; the lady or the tiger. Whatever she had chosen could be a romantic end for the story: a guy that died for his love; or a woman who gives her lover a chance to be alive even with another woman.

However, what is really important, for me, in this story is the point that the princess and her lover knew each other's hearts, and they believed in each other.
The guy knew what would be her choice and accepted it, as last proof of his love for her.
